About Coppter Technologies

Coppter Water Technologies Ltd. is an Israeli start-up company founded in 2023.

The company’s core development is a system for water disinfection using a monovalent copper ion (Cu+).

The system includes the use of divalent copper ions at a low concentration (which is permitted according to the regulatory rules for drinking), with an electric cell that converts them into monovalent copper ions that are active in these low concentrations against microorganisms. The monovalent copper ion is constantly recycled in our electrochemical system.

The product offers a “green” solution for safe water, including wastewater treatment for use in agriculture, water reservoirs, swimming pools, and other applications.
Currently, Coppter Water Technologies Ltd. has demonstrated its disinfecting system in:

a) 250 cubic meter swimming pools – solving the disadvantages of the chlorine use: safety problems, health problems, and environmental damage. Additionally, our systems are more cost-effective and have lower maintenance costs compared to alternative disinfection methods, such as UV treatment and salt chlorinators. The technology was tested and found to meet and exceed the requirements by the Innovation Authority’s testers as part of a project funded by them.

b) Tertiary wastewater treatment – Our systems save up to 80% of alternative disinfection methods that are used in tertiary wastewater treatment, such as UV treatment and Ozonation. The technology has been demonstrated in a pilot installation for the tertiary wastewater(anti-microbial) treatment financing, support, and review by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, which confirmed the success of the project.

c) Hydroponic agriculture – Our water systems eradicate pathogens that harm the crops. With coppter technology, crop yield increased by about 20%. A controlled experiment took place at two sites on three hydroponic growing cycles of lettuce, parsley, and celery. The experiment was supervised by Dr. Molly Sachs (Hydroponic Cultivation Expert).

Lab Tested

The activity of monovalent copper ions against bacteria (15 types) and fungi (6 types) was tested in the company’s laboratories and external laboratories. Monovalent copper ions at a concentration of 0.2 ppm completely destroy the microorganisms.

Operationally-Proven Solution

Coppter’s system for disinfecting swimming pool water, Coppter’s wastewater disinfection systems and Coppter’s water disinfection systems for hydroponic farming were all tested and applied succefully in practice.
